Logent & Valtra

Logent & Valtra: Working together in challenging environments

Valtra tractors are one of Finland’s most recognized export brands. Over the past 15 years, Logent and Valtra have built a strong partnership based on seamless collaboration, deep understanding of growth, and hands-on experience in demanding work environments.

In Suolahti, at the heart of Central Finland, Finnish quality comes to life – a quality that is respected worldwide. Reliability and durability have been crafted over more than 100 years. Valtra, the only tractor manufacturer in the Nordic countries, has a long heritage, dating back to 1832 in Sweden and 1951 in Finland. Since 2004, Valtra has been part of the American AGCO Corporation.

Logent has been a trusted logistics partner for Valtra Oy Ab and AGCO International’s Parts operations for nearly 15 years. The collaboration began in 2011 with spare parts logistics and expanded to production in 2012. Today, Logent handles daily storage and management of heavy, complex, and repackaged items for both companies.

The partnership thrives on initiative, openness, reliability, and the ability to understand needs and create smart solutions. As Valtra’s product range has grown over the years, so have the size of tractors and the number of items handled. Logistical challenges are solved, optimized, and improved together, every day.

“In a fast-paced and constantly changing environment, we need to understand each other’s processes. I can trust that we’ll find the right solutions together,” says Valtra’s Supply Chain Manager, Panu Tourunen.

“Logent is agile, flexible, and always focused on the customer. No matter the need or schedule, they find the best solution,” adds AGCO Parts Operations Manager, Anssi Lotvonen.

Direct deliveries to production

Every Valtra tractor is built to meet the customer’s individual needs and withstand the toughest climates. Sold in over 75 countries, Valtra also operates a factory in Brazil.

At Suolahti, a tractor comes off the production line every 12 minutes and 30 seconds. Daily output is around 40–50 tractors – roughly 8,000–10,000 unique machines delivered worldwide each year.

Logent ensures that components stored in the Jyväskylä logistics center reach production on time and in the right sequence.

“Logent’s role in our production chain is vital. If they weren’t here for a day, we wouldn’t produce a single tractor. Their processes are fully integrated with ours. Tires, castings, and other components arrive daily from Logent,” explains Tourunen.

Thousands of production and spare part items

Valtra and AGCO Parts manage thousands of items, from tires and castings to rims, front axles, and weights. Some parts are repackaged and routed through the Suolahti logistics center before reaching the production line.

“We store and handle fast-moving production parts ourselves, but it makes more sense to use production space for core activities rather than storing large parts here,” Tourunen says.

“Global supply can be unpredictable, so we rely on buffer stocks, especially for large components. Our partnership ensures flexibility and scalability. By optimizing storage locations together, we’ve also reduced costs.”

Packed spare parts for the world

In Säynätsalo, Valtra and AGCO Parts items arriving from around the world are packed according to company guidelines. They can then be shipped anywhere – from Australia to the Americas.

Every day, Logent dispatches multiple truckloads of packed materials to the Suolahti spare parts center for AGCO Parts and other Valtra warehouses worldwide, including France. Logent’s Saarijärvi unit also manages Valtra-branded merchandise logistics, including workwear and toys.

“Logent is an independent partner in our operations. They receive deliveries from our suppliers and ship directly to customers. They also maintain buffer stocks of our fastest-moving items,” explains Lotvonen.
He emphasizes that spare parts operations have unique rules, shaped by responsibilities and obligations. With nearly 60,000 different parts, availability and delivery times are critical. During sowing and harvest seasons, Logent provides spare parts support evenings and weekends to ensure essential parts reach customers on time.

“Inventory must be sufficient to deliver as many orders as possible straight from the shelf. Logent provides flexible access to exactly the space we need, allowing us to adjust storage efficiently,” Lotvonen adds.

A culture of personalized service

Logent plays a key role in ensuring Valtra keeps its promises to customers, no matter the situation. Continuous improvement is a part of everyday life in this open and transparent partnership.

“Valtra is synonymous with Finnish quality. It’s an honor to help ensure this quality. We deliver the agreed level flexibly, efficiently, and with the customer’s best interest in mind,” says Logent Sales Director Markus Viitanen.

Logent also uses Valtra’s logistics systems to support its own warehouse management, ensuring accuracy and real-time communication between partners.

“We design processes from their perspective. In genuine collaboration, we share the same goals and understand our joint mission: getting tractors to the world.”

VALTRA & AGCO PARTS

Valtra develops, manufactures, markets, and services Valtra tractors. AGCO Parts handles spare parts and merchandise products. Both are part of the American AGCO Corporation.

Suolahti hosts assembly and powertrain factories, product development, Valtra Unlimited Studio, a spare parts and service center, and the Atrium Visitor Center. AGCO Parts facilities are also located there.

Most AGCO-Power engines used in Valtra tractors are assembled in Finland at the AGCO Power factory in Nokia, Linnavuori.
